What enrollment options are available at Seaside?
- Full-Time Enrollment: Complete your core classes (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) through Seaside, while still having the option to take electives, foreign languages, or AP courses at your home high school.
- Part-Time Enrollment: Take up to two courses through Seaside while remaining enrolled at Carlsbad High School or Sage Creek High School.
- College Opportunities: Students can also enroll in courses at local community colleges for additional learning opportunities.

What courses does Seaside offer?
Seaside offers A-G approved core courses:
- English: English 9, English 10, English 11, English 12
- Math: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2
- Science: Biology, Chemistry
- Social Studies: World History, U.S. History, Government, Economics
All courses are delivered through Edgenuity, a self-paced, independent study program.
Math and Science students must attend weekly in-person class sessions for those courses.

Can I take electives at Seaside?
In addition to the core courses listed above, students can take PE 1 & 2, as well as Graphic Design at Seaside. Electives, AP courses, and foreign languages should be taken at your home high school or through a community college.

How can I stay on track with independent study?
Students participate in weekly check-ins with teachers and must complete a certain percentage of coursework each week to keep pace with their classes - expect 3-5 hours of independent study per week for each Seaside class.

How does the Edgenuity platform work?
Edgenuity is an online curriculum designed for independent study. Students complete lessons, assignments, and quizzes online. Students come to campus to take unit tests and final exams. Students taking a lab science or a math class are required to attend an additional weekly full class meeting.

I'm a student athlete, does Seaside offer sports programs?
Per CIF bylaws, Seaside students can continue playing sports at their home high school.
